Aloe

Ambassador · Aloe · visual presence only

A succulent first-aid plant. The clear inner gel is the famous skin ally. The yellow latex under the skin is another story entirely.

This prototype offers educational plant guidance only and does not replace medical care. Check with a qualified professional before using herbs or supplements, especially if you take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a chronic condition, or are choosing something for a child or pet.

Aloe

Benefits and traditional uses

  • Soothing gel for minor burns and dry skin
  • Houseplant that earns its windowsill
  • Drought-wise grower

African and later global folk use of the inner leaf gel for skin is widespread. Traditional internal uses of latex are not something to copy from a blog.

Precautions

  • Do not put gel on deep or infected wounds as a substitute for care.
  • The yellow latex is a strong laxative and is not a casual tea.
  • Allergy is possible.

Prepare

Split a mature outer leaf, drain the yellow sap, then scoop the clear gel onto clean, unbroken skin. Commercial gels vary in quality.

Dosage

Dosage is not provided in this prototype. A later sourced record can sit here. Do not treat any number on this site as a prescription.

Grow

Bright light, fast-draining mix, infrequent water. It will tell you when it is thirsty by thinning.
